Alex Szatanek is a Licensed Engineer and is responsible for performing and managing damage assessments and estimating for buildings and roofs, construction defect claim evaluations, job site progress monitoring, construction consulting, and loss consulting. Over his career, Alex has worked on more than 1,000 projects across 30 states.
Prior to joining J.S. Held, Alex had 17 years of consulting experience performing forensic investigations, designing repairs, and overseeing construction for existing modern and vintage building envelope components. He specialized in repairs to facades, roofs, parking garages, stadiums, plazas, and waterproofing systems. Façade projects typically involved cladding materials such as brick masonry, limestone, terracotta, reinforced/precast concrete, metal curtain wall, stucco, and exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS). Roofing system projects typically involved modified bitumen systems, single-ply systems, cold-applied systems, hot-applied systems, built-up roofing systems, and asphalt shingles. Parking garage projects typically involved normal/light weight reinforced concrete, precast concrete, and post-tensioned concrete structures.
