John Sury is a senior consultant with more than 35 years of experience in general contracting, construction management and surety consulting. During his years with Lovett Silverman, John has performed a variety of roles on a number of wide-ranging projects. These projects have included new construction; utility work; interior fit-outs; retro-fits; elementary, middle and high schools; universities; public parks; utility facilities; public parking buildings; high rise hotel; theme park; resort condominiums; roofing projects and prison facilities.
John’s responsibilities with Lovett Silverman include project default and/or distressed project analyses; project takeover to include administrative and financial management and oversight of completion work; preparation of re-let packages; ratification of subcontractors and vendors; detailed cost to complete analyses and estimates; inspection of defective work; project reserve and exposure analyses; and payment and performance payment bond claim analyses.
Prior to joining Lovett Silverman, John performed a variety of duties and developed a wide range of skills in his 22 years with a New York general contracting/construction management firm. John’s duties during this period grew from field level administrative and billing clerk, to field level management, project management, estimating, scheduling and purchasing, to senior executive project management on a variety of commercial interior projects located mainly in the New York metropolitan area. During this time, John developed expertise in value engineering and overall project team management on construction management projects. His ability to work with and coordinate multiple design and construction team disciplines has been a valuable asset that John brings to any assignment.
