Dr. Alastair McKenzie-Kerr has 25 years of experience advising high‑risk organizations across industries, including mining, construction, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, technology, transportation, and infrastructure. Known for his “boots‑to‑boardroom” experience, he combines hands‑on field experience with strategic leadership to help manage and mitigate human error and improve safety performance in high-hazard organizations across Europe, the Middle East, India, South Africa, Australia, North America, and South America.
Dr. Mckenzie-Kerr has led corporate safety strategies, implemented AI‑enabled Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) solutions, and integrated human factors into design engineering and operational systems. His expertise includes safety culture assessments, serious injury and fatality prevention programs, and data‑driven occupational health and safety advisory. A Chartered Psychologist and experienced safety professional, he is a frequent speaker at industry conferences on occupational safety and human factors.
At J.S. Held, Dr. Mckenzie-Kerr leads our Occupational Health, Safety, and Human Factors services across EMEA, driving strategic growth and supporting clients in regulated, high-risk sectors. He holds a PhD in Human Factors and Cognitive Psychology and is a member of IOSH and the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors.
Dr. Mckenzie-Kerr holds a PhD in Human Factors and Cognitive Psychology and a Diploma in Psychology from Cardiff University.
