Alexander Stamenkovic, PhD, is a Managing Scientist within J.S. Held's Human Factors & User Research team. As a biomechanist and human behavior specialist, he brings over a decade of experience in research strategy and execution across academic and industry settings to generate quantitative user experience insights through the combined analysis of human motion and physiological signals (including neural, muscular, and cardiovascular measures) within the US, UK, and Australia. Dr. Stamenkovic delivers expertise in movement coordination, neuromuscular control during gait, balance, and falls, clinical movement rehabilitation, human health, performance assessment, and physical safety and wearability in product design.

At J.S. Held, Dr. Stamenkovic helps expand the firm’s state-of-the-art User Research Labs, providing technical consulting and biomechanical research services to clients in the Aerospace, Life Sciences, and Technology sectors. He applies principles of biomechanics and human behavior to evaluate fall mechanisms, injury causation, environmental risk factors, and product safety throughout the product lifecycle.

Prior to joining J.S. Held, Dr. Stamenkovic served as a Research Scientist supporting Meta’s Reality Labs, where he managed research programs focused on product safety and risk mitigation for emerging consumer technologies. He remains active in the scientific community, having authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and served as a reviewer for journals spanning biomechanics, neuroscience, rehabilitation, and human-computer interaction.

Dr. Stamenkovic holds a PhD in Neurophysiology and dual bachelor's degrees in Biomechanics and Exercise Science from the University of Wollongong. He is certified in Good Clinical Practices and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment and is a member of the International Society of Posture & Gait Research.
