Summary of Experience:
Barbie Kelly has more than two years of experience in the fields of civil site design and structural forensic investigations. She has performed investigations related to water intrusion, fire damage, wind damage, and structural failures and collapses. She is experienced in site design for residential and commercial projects of varying scale and complexity, and competent in a variety of computer programs, including Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) programs, and various computer programming languages and technologies. She is conversationally fluent in Spanish.
Prior to working in forensics, Ms. Kelly worked as a civil site design engineer. She designed projects from the land planning and conceptual stage all the way through full plan production and permitting with the local municipality. Ms. Kelly has performed pre-construction site inspections and determined site conditions in order to create conceptual designs that are both functional and optimized for the site constraints. She designed public and private roads and alleys, parking lots, building lots, site grading, stormwater collection, conveyance, and detention systems, sanitary sewer conveyance systems and drain fields, turn lanes and roadway widenings. She also prepared erosion control plans, zoning plans and permit applications.
