Prior to joining J.S. Held, Cole spent four years in the alternative asset management sector, including three years at a startup firm where he played a central role in shaping its operational strategy and driving growth. His contributions were instrumental in the firm’s recognition on the Inc. 5000 list for two consecutive years, and he was honored as Employee of the Year for his leadership and impact. He began his career as a project manager in the specialty pressure washing industry, where he successfully expanded operations across multiple US states and into Canada, overseeing project execution, financial oversight, and business development.
Cole specializes in turnaround and restructuring engagements, where he helps stabilize underperforming businesses through strategic and operational improvements. He has supported complex restructurings by enhancing financial controls, optimizing capital structures, and guiding stakeholders through transitional periods. His work in receiverships focuses on maximizing recovery and ensuring transparent administration during asset transitions. In distressed mergers and acquisitions, Cole provides financial analysis and risk assessment to support value realization. He also advises lenders, legal counsel, and business operators on risk exposure and recovery strategies in distressed and special situations.
He holds a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Southern Utah University and a Bachelor of Science in Business with an emphasis in Accounting from Utah Valley University. Cole has conducted project work across the United States and Canada.
