Evangelos Georgopoulos is a Chartered Engineer in the UK, Greece, and Qatar with over 20 years of experience on large-scale engineering projects, including metros and tunnels. He has experience in technical, commercial, and program aspects of projects across Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia. His extensive academic and professional qualifications, training, and claims consultancy experience provide him with a broad range of technical, commercial, and construction expertise.
Evangelos maintains close client contact, facilitating the understanding of their objectives and developing strong working relationships. He is skilled at identifying and communicating potential issues and opportunities to ensure successful project delivery. His high-level management skills enable him to manage interdisciplinary projects effectively within budget and program constraints.
Previously, Evangelos was the Head of the Geotechnical and Tunnel departments and Design Manager at Omikron Kappa Consulting, where he managed and advised on tendering, pricing, and technical solutions. He also served as the Geotechnical Engineering Manager and Deputy Tunnel Engineering Manager for the Gold Line Metro in Doha, Qatar.
His extensive academic and professional qualifications, training, and claims consultancy experience provide him with a broad range of technical, commercial, and construction expertise. He specializes in project management, resource management, design coordination, forensic engineering, risk assessment, and value engineering. He provides detailed evaluations of data and multidisciplinary expert testimony. He has given evidence as a witness of fact in international arbitration and has been cross-examined by leading London-based Queen’s Counsel, receiving positive feedback for his detailed, measured, and convincing testimony.
Evangelos holds a Master of Science in Mining Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Geotechnical/Tunnel Engineering from Metsovion National Technical University of Athens. He is a joint author of various publications, proceeding papers, and articles. He has worked with numerous contractors, employers, and consultants under different procurement routes and contract conditions.
Evangelos has project experience in the UAE, UK, Greece, Qatar, Romania, India, Albania, and North Macedonia. He is fluent in English, Greek, and Italian.
