Lara Diener is a Project Manager and Senior Toxicologist at J.S. Held. She holds a Master of Public Health with a focus on epidemiology from the University of Washington and a Master of Science in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Waterloo, as well as a certificate in Clinical Trials from the University of Washington. Lara has more than 15 years providing scientific support on projects related to toxicology and industrial hygiene.
Lara manages projects related to human and environmental toxicology, exposure assessment, and risk assessment. She critically reviews, evaluates, summarizes, and compiles information from a variety of sources, including court documents, depositions, medical records, industrial hygiene data, and scientific literature. She assesses chemical exposure risk in residential and occupational settings, evaluates exposure and epidemiology studies, and analyzes scientific data. Lara also has field experience conducting air and water quality assessments and environmental sampling of bioaerosols, solvents, metals, and dusts.
Lara has project experience in government, academic, and consulting settings. She has participated in laboratory validation of molecular biomarkers for contaminated water, developed health questionnaires, and evaluated morbidity in vulnerable populations using epidemiology research methods.
Lara is a member of Society of Toxicology and the Pacific Northwest Association of Toxicologists.
