Mark Vermilion joins J.S. Held after working 20 years within the commercial architectural industry. He began his career at an architecture firm providing document production on a wide range of projects. Including a year spent working with the State of Ohio School Facilities Commission on assessment of existing school structures. Assessment reports were provided to the local school districts with a comprehensive list of needed improvements to meet state standards for mechanical systems, envelope integrity, and life safety.
The majority of Mark’s career was spent as an architectural designer for a national hotel development and management company where projects varied in scope from $50,000 renovations to new-build construction of hotel and conference centers with budgets of over $40 million. Mark was involved in all aspects of the design, construction, and subsequent operation of the facilities. His responsibilities included initial site planning, code and zoning analysis, existing condition assessments, architectural design, construction management, and construction oversight.
Mr. Vermilion’s broad experience within the industry provides him with valuable knowledge of building envelope integrity, construction processes, quality assurance, and forensic investigation and remediation support. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Miami University (Oxford, OH) and is based in J.S. Held’s Cincinnati office.
