Michael "Mike" Sutters joined J.S. Held’s Strategic Advisory Group in October of 2023 as part of J.S. Held's acquisition of Phoenix Management Services. He is a Director with nearly 15 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial operations, and executive-level interim finance roles. Mike has demonstrated success and expertise in areas such as interim leadership, financial reporting, technical accounting, cash flow forecasting, M&A due diligence, process improvement, and ERP implementations across a wide range of industries. He is recognized for building out high-performing teams and driving financial integrity in fast-paced, complex environments.
Mike’s deep accounting knowledge and hands-on leadership approach enable him to craft effective strategies to enhance profitability and liquidity, maximizing overall value. With his analytical nature, Mike can quickly identify areas of concern to develop and implement enterprise control systems to address deficiencies. He has a proven track record of success in several interim Controller roles, where Mike has supported organizations during periods of transition.
Mike provides strategic and actionable insights towards financial and operational improvements, having led ERP implementations, budgeting processes, and M&A due diligence. His leadership style emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and cross-functional alignment to ensure financial and operational excellence.

Prior to joining J.S. Held, Mike held various accounting roles with the largest privately held payroll & HCM company. Emphasizing his drive for process improvement, Mike has earned his Six Sigma Green Belt. Additionally, Mike holds a FINRA Series 28 license, demonstrating his expertise in performing critical financial and operational functions as a broker-dealer.
