Robert Goodwin is a senior executive and technical consulting leader with nearly two decades of experience in forensic engineering, architecture, and complex property and construction-related matters; as well as an experienced environmental professional. He currently serves as Executive Vice President and Forensic Architecture & Engineering Practice Lead at J.S. Held, where he oversees multidisciplinary consulting services and a team that supports clients’ technical, risk, and litigation-related challenges.
Prior to joining J.S. Held in 2025, Robert built an extensive leadership career with The Vertex Companies, progressing through a series of increasingly senior roles over more than 20 years. His responsibilities spanned project management, operational leadership, business growth, and strategic oversight, culminating in executive leadership positions.
Robert’s professional background combines technical knowledge with executive management experience, enabling him to lead large teams, manage complex consulting engagements, and guide organizations through growth and transformation. His career has been rooted in solving challenging issues at the intersection of engineering, environmental science, construction, and risk management.
Based in the Boston area, Robert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth and Geographic Studies with a focus on Hydrogeology.
