Dr. Robert Sall is a Managing Scientist, Human Factors in J.S. Held’s state-of-the-art scientific User Research Laboratories (URL); these provide product safety and user experience (UX) research along the entire product lifecycle based on 50 years of human factors and failure analysis. Dr. Sall offers expert witness testimony for cases involving premises liability (e.g., slip, trip, and fall) and motor vehicle accidents, and he supports testimony for a wide array of additional cases, which includes product liability, failure to warn, and class action litigation. He also provides scientific expertise for clients interested in understanding how consumers interact with products, which involves empirical studies on cognition, perception, consumer satisfaction, and product safety.

Dr. Sall has over ten years of experience studying human experience and cognition, including driving performance. He can provide research services for product development teams as well as consulting and expert services for plaintiff and defense law firms nationwide. During his career, Dr. Sall has managed scientific studies for Fortune 500 companies to help them optimize user experiences and product safety, and his work has been crucial to those companies at all stages of product development. Dr. Sall has also worked directly with product teams to help companies understand how their users engage with products, where he has helped design safer, easier, and more fun products.

Dr. Sall possesses specific expertise for testing and evaluating transportation-related technologies in terms of user experiences and their potential to contribute to driver distraction or compromised driving performance. He also has unique experiences studying technology for tourism and hospitality, along with experience testing a variety of digital interfaces (e.g., mobile and desktop applications), mixed-reality products (e.g., virtual reality), and wearable technology (e.g., smart watches).
