Sam Stainer joined J.S. Held in May 2022 following J.S. Held's acquisition of GPW Group, Ltd. Sam is a Director on J.S. Held’s International Disputes team. 

Based in London, Sam specialises in complex cross-border investigations, asset tracing and recovery, and bespoke intelligence-led litigation support. He routinely advises law firms, multinational corporations, high-net-worth individuals, and institutional investors on global asset recovery and the enforcement of civil and arbitral awards. Sam has particular expertise in supporting high-value fraud claims and sovereign disputes, where his work often involves identifying and assessing assets with high monetary and disruptive value, evaluating enforcement viability, and navigating politically sensitive environments.

Prior to joining J.S. Held, Sam worked for a boutique corporate investigations consultancy, focusing on intelligence gathering and litigation support in the CIS and sub-Saharan Africa. Sam holds a BA in History from the University of Southampton.
