What truly differentiates J.S. Held is our people — world-class talent driven by a common set of core values. Together, these shared values inspire a culture of integrity, excellence, teamwork, and service.
Warren Guillot joined J.S. Held’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Practice Group in the fall of 2016 as a part of the U.S. HELM acquisition. In just over two and a half years, Warren has established himself as one of the top safety professionals in the industry, known for his commitment to delivering first-class service and high-quality deliverables.
“Warren is always looking for ways to improve and learn more about every aspect of the business,” said Tom Sumner, Vice President - Environmental, Health & Safety Services. “His versatility and collaborative attitude have made him a valuable member of our team. He is ready, willing, and able to handle any project over a wide range of EH&S issues.”
Warren is based out of New Orleans, Louisiana and is known for being a fun-loving person who becomes friends with just about everyone that he meets. His industry knowledge and personable nature are key components in his success as an EH&S team leader, where he helps guide efforts in the design and implementation of health and safety programs; conduct health and safety training courses; perform accident investigations and safety audits for general, maritime, and construction industries; and assess environmental issues including mold, lead, and asbestos.
It wasn’t until 2010 that Warren hopped on the EH&S train and joined U.S. HELM. Prior to then, he worked as a Youth Program Coordinator and Before/After School Care Director for the YMCA in Richmond, Kentucky and Greater Indianapolis area. In these roles, Warren was responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing risk, developing safety programs, managing staff, and abiding by regulatory requirements.
His responsibility for the health and safety of the children under his care served as a great stepping stone when the time came for him to dive into the EH&S industry full time. His experience helped foster the development of his staffing and scheduling, budget development and management, leadership, training and staff development, and problem-solving skills.
Warren is regarded for his expertise in occupational health and safety. His credentials include Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP), which are both awarded by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). Warren has consulted on health and safety matters across the U.S. involving petrochemical organizations, luxury resorts, shipbreaking facilities, construction projects, and emergency spill response.
The opportunity to continue to learn new things daily, be confronted by unique challenges, and share information with people who want to listen are aspects of Warren’s job that he enjoys most. His passion for helping others stay safe while also protecting the environment are what inspire him on a daily basis.
Warren is a soccer fanatic. He plays the sport recreationally as a goalkeeper and volunteers as a coach, holding numerous nationally recognized coaching licenses and diplomas. One of the groups he is currently coaching is his daughter’s U6 team and the other is a competitive boys U12 team. Each of which combines for more than 30 games a year with travel reaching as far west as Texas and as far east as Florida.
On top of that, Warren is also the First Team and U23 Goalkeeper Coach for Northshore United Football Club, an elite amateur soccer team, who is a part of the Gulf Coast Premier League. Investing in our youth and being a positive influence in their lives is a part of who Warren is and what he truly cares about.
