The Situation

A for-profit operator of thirteen Acute Care Hospitals based out of North Carolina, with annual revenue of approximately $650M, owned a hospital based in Arizona, which was facing liquidity issues because of deteriorating patient volumes and challenges relating to the medical staff with regard to utilization and retention of core talent. Further complicating the situation was increased competition from other hospitals in the marketplace, creating revenue and margin pressures.

How We Advised

Our experts conducted a business and operational assessment and served as financial advisors to an operator of acute care hospitals to successfully sell the company to a strategic buyer.

In concert with the corporate office and the local board, the decision was made to package the facility and sell it to a strategic buyer. Once the decision to sell was made, the transaction was completed within six months.
