Conner Briggs has nearly four years of experience in the construction industry. Prior to joining J.S. Held, Conner worked as a Project Engineer, focusing on the structural design, estimating, and management of the support of excavation component for several notable projects in the DC area.
Conner has been responsible for the execution of over $28 million in the residential, health care, commercial, and heavy civil sectors. During this time, Conner gained experience in preconstruction services, project estimating, project management and quality control. He was often tasked with putting together preliminary budgets, preforming takeoffs, and applying experience-based labor productivity data to come up with baseline schedules. Using this information, he was able to estimate costs to prepare bid packages and compete for new work. He was responsible for the field quality control throughout the life of his projects. He also monitored project tracking to create as-built documentation and measure project performance.
As an E.I.T., he has extensive experience in the structural and geotechnical components of sheeting and shoring design. His specific design experience includes: soldier piles, bracket piles, underpinning piers, lagging, permanent earth retention, temporary earth tiebacks, rakers, wales, heel blocks, corner bracing, cross lots, historical façade support, and utility support.
Conner holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University. He is eligible to sit for the Professional Engineering (PE) exam in October 2018.
