David P. Haines is a construction/building expert specializing in evaluating property damage and providing opinion or fact information regarding property damage and/or providing cost estimates for repairs or replacement of the property affected. David’s experience includes inspecting commercial, industrial, institutional and residential properties involving damage from, but not limited to, fire, water, wind, deterioration, explosion or construction defect. He has also provided information and opinions on such items as scope of repair, repair cost valuation, replacement cost valuation, cause of damage, code compliant issues, construction defect, actual cash value determination, mold remediation and repair. He has worked on consulting projects ranging from $5,000 to $25,000,000.
David also has experience working for a general contractor as an estimator creating budgetary and hard bid estimates for new buildings and renovation projects in commercial and residential construction ranging from $5,000 to $5,000,000 in cost. This includes providing construction schedules using Microsoft Project as requested by the client. As an estimator his responsibilities included coordinating all bid-day activities; preparing the bid for submission for specific deadlines, thoroughly reviewing construction documents to become familiar with bid requirements, development of the scope of work, ensuring invited subcontractors complied with the required scope of work, attending pre-bid meetings to obtain pertinent information related to the bid requirements, submitting questions for unclear bidding requirements and follow up for clarifications and working closely with project managers and owners to ensure smooth project turnover on successful bids.
