Summary of Experience:
Geoffrey Chambers has extensive experience in the structural engineering field. His career has been balanced with both design and inspection of new structures, as well as the assessment of existing structures. This includes design and inspection of numerous single and multi-story buildings. He has managed, coordinated, designed, and analyzed steel frame, reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, wood, masonry, and precast structures. Geoffrey has also served as a Special Inspector and threshold agent performing structural inspections of threshold buildings.
He has served as project manager on several large projects throughout Florida, coordinating the structural design, analysis, construction document production and review, shop drawing review, and construction inspections. Structure types have included single-family residential, multi-story, multi-family, hotels, airports, commercial and big box, casino, hospital, and public/government facilities. In addition to his own design work, Geoffrey also provides peer review services to local design firms.
Geoffrey also has geotechnical-structural experience including the assessment and remediation of structures having settlement related damage. These projects include numerous sinkhole investigations and structural assessments, cause-and-origin investigations, and other forensic structural evaluations. He has performed additional forensic investigations including wind damage, hail damage, construction/design failure, water intrusion, moisture/mold assessments.
Geoffrey has performed transition inspections for homeowner associations and developers, as well as other inspections for real estate transactions. He has performed third party (private provider) inspections for both contractors and municipalities. He also has construction materials testing and inspection experience, as well as conducting geotechnical laboratory testing during his internships.
