Matthew Hill is a Licensed Professional Engineer with more than 5 years of experience in forensic engineering and damage assessment. Matt joins J.S. Held having provided forensic engineering and consulting services to various clients such as insurance companies, attorneys, and private companies. During his career, Matt also has performed various lab tests and assisted in ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation procedures, through the International Accreditation Services (IAS).

Matt has provided mechanical engineering failure/damage consulting services, evaluating failures and damages of many mechanical systems such as grain elevators, fire sprinkler systems, piping, conveyor systems, man-type elevators, air conditioning systems, boiler systems, oil and gas components, mechanical equipment, and more. Using his experience, education, and knowledge, he also has analyzed multiple industrial accidents involving heavy machinery and other equipment. Matt also provides valuable expertise in hail and wind damage assessments. He uses his experience and training in storm-related damage analysis to evaluating roofs and exteriors on many different types of facilities such as churches, high-rise buildings, residences, commercial facilities, multi-family dwellings, manufacturing facilities, and many others. This variety of facilities and exposure have included many different roof types and exterior finishes.

Matt has provided expert witness testimony in deposition and in the court room. He has dealt with files ranging in values from several thousand dollars to multi-million-dollar disputes.
