Joe is a Senior Quantity Surveyor with 34 years commercial experience in the United Kingdom construction industry. Joe provides pre and post contract commercial surveying expertise on construction projects, estimating duties, assists with dispute resolution and claims preparation. Joe’s experience also includes providing surveying services to end user clients, main contractors, UK regional specialist contractors and sub-contractors.
Joe started his career under a full indentured four-year management training programme with a major UK national residential contractor, progressing to hold positions as a project Quantity Surveyor (responsible for domestic subcontract procurement and management, monthly cost/value reconciliation reporting and agreeing external interim and final accounts) and Head Estimator-(responsible for preparing tenders and bids, contractual arrangements, land acquisition appraisals, viability studies and development agreements)
Later as a Procurement Manager, Joe delivered a full range of supply chain management activities, commodity management, specification writing, quantification, tendering, contract drafting, placement, dispute resolution, expediting, quality compliance, supplier management and development. He also worked with innovation teams (modern methods of construction) vendor assessment and appraisal panels (including aspects of corporate social responsibility auditing) and both value and re-engineering forums. Joe gained experience in project management in a multi-disciplinary cross-matrix environment, which led to him completing an Executive MBA at the University of Bath.
