Simon Fegen specializes in dispute avoidance and providing contract administration and contract interpretation assistance. Having previously worked for contractors, Simon holds a strong background in the preparation and negotiation of contractual claims in respect to both extension of time and adjustments to the contract price; including the assessment of quantum for prolongation and for disruption costs, on behalf of international contractors.
Simon has gained extensive experience globally and on different types of projects. Simon lived in East, Central and Southern Africa for 30 years. His work has involved working with contractors on large infrastructure projects on a range of energy, transportation, business and industrial, leisure and residential projects.
Simon has experience as both an arbitrator, with 33 appointments of which 16 resulted in awards, as adjudicator and as mediator. Simon has been appointed to represent clients at a number of arbitrations and dispute board referrals.
He specializes in promoting the practice of dispute avoidance through training in contract administration and in the benefit of dispute boards.
