Steve Hardgrave has eighteen years of experience in contracting and consulting on a diverse range of claims from property loss to liability and causality. He has extensive knowledge and hands on experience in construction and restoration procedures and is competent in the insurance adjusting side of claims handling, as well.
Prior to joining J.S. Held, Steve was General Manager of Catastrophe Services for Regal General Contractors. In this role, Steve was responsible for overseeing construction and mitigation consulting for the company’s largest projects. His duties included but were not limited to estimating, cost analysis and review of third party documents.
Prior to joining Regal General Contractors, Steve worked in the insurance restoration industry for six years. As a Restoration Technician, Steve was responsible for providing restoration services for fire, smoke and water damage which included cleaning carpets, upholstery, draperies, and air ducts in addition to performing large loss drying. In addition, as the National Catastrophe Manager, Steve was accountable for coordinating the schedule in regards to all phases of restoration as well as maintaining extensive and thorough records for all costs and expenses incurred.
Earlier in his career, Steve has also worked as
an insurance adjuster for a major
independent adjusting company. He
was responsible for estimating all property damage claims and served as liaison
between clients, insured and insurance company for duration of restoration. Clearly, Steve’s broad experience within all
areas of the insurance industry provides him with inclusive knowledge in the
investigations of various types of property damage.
