Employee Spotlight: Morgan Cassuto

At J.S. Held, we talk a lot about our people. Our clients frequently cite the expertise and service of our team as a key benefit to working with us. So, what does a J.S. Held employee look like and how do they contribute to the quality of service we deliver? In this Employee Spotlight series, we share the stories of J.S. Held colleagues across our organization to learn more about who they are and what they do – both in and outside of the workplace.

Get to know Morgan Cassuto, Senior Consultant.

Morgan Cassuto has been with J.S. Held for just over six months and is based out of our Denver, Colorado office. He works with our Builder’s Risk and Construction Advisory groups, where he has become immediately recognized for his expertise, energy, and enthusiasm. Whether he is performing schedule delay analysis, construction invoice review, or generating period of repair schedules; Morgan always delivers total focus and reliability to clients and team members alike.

Known as a “roll up your sleeves” kind of guy, Morgan makes work a priority and believes wholeheartedly in customer service. His commitment to detail and attentiveness are both unique and inspiring. However, Morgan’s optimistic attitude is the staple of his character that has made a life-long impression upon his colleagues.

Morgan is a graduate of Northern Arizona University (Go Lumberjacks!), where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management/Engineering. Upon graduating and prior to joining J.S. Held, Morgan worked in the heavy industrial sector of construction, with a special interest in Power and Mining. His roles included Construction Engineer and General Superintendent, which helped to develop his technical construction skills, comprehension of systems and operations, as well as cost and schedule management. Morgan considers his greatest lesson from his time in the construction industry to be in leadership and communication, both of which he identifies as personal strengths today.

It was at an office Christmas party in late 2017 that a close friend of Morgan’s introduced him to the idea of joining J.S. Held. After getting to know Brian Beatty, John Gillen, and Granger Stuck, all of whom he works with daily now, Morgan decided to change career paths and enter the consulting industry. “It took me all of about a minute to accept their offer,” said Morgan. “I knew that the culture was in line with who I am personally and professionally, after a few easy, natural conversations with Brian, John, and Granger.”

Morgan is recognized for his expertise in schedule delay analysis and has consulted on many large loss builder’s risk claims across the United States. His knowledge and exposure to the construction industry offers him unique insight into the analysis of construction documents and project controls. Having been a general contractor for the majority of his career, Morgan is able to interpret information quickly and effectively, while making sure to ask all the right questions along the way.

Gathering and analyzing volumes of data, sifting through all of the information, and ultimately arriving at a singular conclusion are what Morgan enjoys most about his work in the consulting industry. He relates his passion for construction to being a “book worm”, once he picks up a new project, he cannot put it down until it is finished.

Away from work, Morgan can be found in the mountains shredding powder on his snowboard, braving rocky terrain on his mountain bike, or relaxing riverside with a fishing pole in hand.

Morgan also spends his free time working alongside friends to identify and serve families in need through Habitat for Humanity, an organization he has been actively involved with since college.
