Gulf Coast

Katrina - Northrop Grumman Shipping Systems

Provide property loss quantification analysis for the shipbuilder’s $500 million gulf coast facilities damaged in Hurricane Katrina.

Provided on-site inspection of properties to assess damage and physical property loss estimates on three buildings:

- East Bank Machine Shop $3.9 million/54,000 s.f.

- East Bank Valve Shop $1.7 million/15,000 s.f.

- West Bank Steel Fabrication Shop $5.5 million/273,000 s.f.

Analysis determined that adjuster’s loss estimates undervalued the cost of repairs and replacement. Values were consistent NGSS construction manager’s estimates. Loss estimates used in mediation and ongoing adjustment negotiation.
